Amplifon Centre for Research and Studies International
The Amplifon Centre for Research and Studies (known as CRS) was founded in 1971 as an independent organization for the spreading of knowledge in the fields of audiology and otology. From its earliest years the CRS has made a name for itself in the scientific community, focusing its efforts on scientific research, supporting the professional development of doctors and audiologists and organising training courses and conferences in cooperation with Italian and foreign universities.
Consulting for the CRS is provided by an independent Scientific Committee of academics that draws up an annual programme of initiatives, as well as awarding prizes and scholarships.
The CRS instituted a number of awards in the field of scientific research. The most prestigious of these is the International CRS Prize, which goes to illustrious scholars for substantial contributions to human knowledge in the fields of audiology and of otology. Every year the CRS also assigns awards three prizes for the best Italian specialisation theses in ENT or Audiology and Phoniatrics, and three prizes for the best Italian theses in Speech therapy.
